Willie Allen Wright, affectionately known as Will and "Willie Boy", peacefully slipped away in the presence of his family on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Willie was born on November 3, 1944 in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Deacon Willie Wright, Sr. and Louise Boone Wright. He received his education in Caroline County public schools.

Willie accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia in August 1956 under the leadership of Reverend Parrish Freeman. Later he moved his membership to the family church, Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia under the leadership of Reverend Andrew J. Jackson, Sr. where he served faithfully and also sang with the male chorus under the direction of Mr. Aubrey Minor. He also shared his God-given musical talent by joining Heaven Bound Mass Choir.

Willie Boy was also a lifetime member of Welcome Lodge #125 Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall Affiliate of Bowling Green, Virginia.

His interest in maintaining law and order in communities led to a career in security services for various business establishments in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland. He also served as a bail bondsman and bounty hunter. He also worked in construction at D.A. Foster in Northern, VA. In addition to security services, he was a warehouseman for the General Services Administration in Franconia, VA. Later, he obtained his commercial license and drove tractor trailer for Flagg Leasing. Payne Bus Company also employed him as a bus driver.

Willie Boy was also an entrepreneur. Partnered with his first wife, they built a successful Amway business. He had an avid interest in martial arts and achieved third degree black belt. With his level of success in Karate, Willie Boy opened a Martial Arts school at Red Robin in Woodford, VA. While residing in the State of Maryland, he opened an auto detailing business in Suitland, MD.

Willie Boy enjoyed hunting, auto racing events, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Many knew Willie Boy was a talented singer and dancer, too. He was also a drummer and performed with various artists when needed, including Mary Wells and James Brown, at the Howard Theater, and in various clubs in N.W. Washington, D.C.

Willie Boy was joined in matrimony with Cheryl Darlene Foster of Monessen, Pennsylvania in Washington, DC in 1965. Two children were born from their union. They later legally divorced in 1984.

Willie Boy also married Jeanne Rene Wright of Milford, Virginia in 1984. Although separated for many years, they were legally divorced in 2016.

Willie Boy was predeceased in death by his father, Deacon Willie Wright, Sr.; his brothers, Lewis Edward Wright, Jesse Calvin Wright, and Robert Wright; and his nephew, Jonathan Wilson.

Willie Boy leaves to cherish his loving memories: his mother, Louise Boone Wright of Woodford, VA; two sisters, Elizabeth Dyson of Fredericksburg, VA, and Corean Wright Wilson (John) of Woodford, VA; five children, Regina Cevis (Eric) of Long Valley, NJ, Willie Wright, III (Donna) of Woodford, VA, Pastor Day McCall (Sharon) of Fredericksburg, VA; Patrina Savage of Plantation, FL, and Carmela LaShay Diggs-Hawkins of Greensboro, NC; two step-children, Bridgette Wright-Sessoms of Los Angeles, CA and Shaquelle Wright of Sherman Oaks, CA; ten grandchildren, Lauren, Danielle, Christian, Joshua, Bradley, Brittney, Tabias, Dayvian, Tameka, and Patrina; ten great-grandchildren, Joshua (LJ), Jackson, Lyric, Jailyn, Jayden, Jyisin, Ja'se, LaShay Marie, Jesse, and Christian; one brother-in-law, Deacon John Wilson; one devoted cousin he considered a brother, Reed "Man" Wright, Jr.; one devoted friend, Sharon Brown Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Va. 22427 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 am at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 18562 Country Line Church Road, Ruther Glen, Va. 22546 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
