Obituary

Willie "Bill" Parker, Jr. was born May 9, 1934, to the late Willie Parker, Sr. and Mamie O. Smith.  He departed this earthly life on January 20, 2022.  Bill received his education in the Caroline County Public Schools.

Bill was married to the love of his life and forever wife, Eva Lee Taylor.  They were joined in holy matrimony on September 3, 1955, and from this union, nine children were born. He began his career with Virginia Department of Highway and Transportation and later pursued his lifelong career with DeJarnette Lumber Company, where he worked for sixty-five years.  His one son, Kenny, was also his best friend, and worked with him starting at the age of fifteen until Bill retired.

Bill was a family man and had a personal relationship with everyone.  His famous sayings were "what you know good," you better believe it," "oh yeah," and "yeah man."  His favorite foods were eggs and bologna, orange juice, and fried fish, and he had to have ice cream before bed every night.  In the evenings, Bill could be found at his favorite spot--the old Safeway parking lot in Bowling Green.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aubrey; his sister, Yvonne Elizabeth and grandson, Neil.

Bill leaves cherished and precious memories to: his wife, Eva; eight daughters, Veronica "Bo" Taylor-Spencer of Richmond, Virginia, Carmen Johnson (Kenneth),  Marilynn Peatross, Marcia Jones (Derrick) and Kathy Stevens (Payton) of Ruther Glen, Virginia,  Linette Johnson (Kenneth) and Freda Johnson of Woodford, Virginia, Jill Washington (Arthur) of Bowling Green, Virginia, one son, Kenneth Parker (Patty) of Spotsylvania, Virginia; twenty grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Inez Woolfolk, three sisters-in-law, Florence Tate, Linda Taylor, and Marion Henderson; one brother-in-law, Richard Taylor, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
