Wayne Elliott Samuel, 64, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital.  Wayne was born on December 11, 1957, in Washington, D.C. to the late Alice V. Samuel and Trip Coleman Jr.

He was educated in the Caroline Public Schools and later earned a Certificate from a Trade School in Petersburg, VA, where he learned how to operate and use Construction Equipment.  He was employed for many years with several construction companies until his health failed. He loved to work on cars, and he could fix anything you gave him.  All you had to do was to call him and he would be right there to help.  Wayne also loved the racetrack and spent numerous weekends there.

Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, James E. Samuel; sister, Lucille Johnson; brothers-in-law, Oliver (Pee Wee) Johnson, Sr. and Phillip Henderson; nieces, Tammy and LaTasha Johnson.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memories; daughter, Mary Myers (James), of Ashland, VA; devoted sisters Lillie M. Lee of Wheaton, MD, Jean D. Samuel of Washington, D.C., Margie Henderson of Richmond, VA, and Shermel Rock (John) of Colonial Beach, VA, devoted brothers; John H. Samuel, Sr. (Frances) of Washington, D.C. and George E. Samuel (Linda) of Hyattsville, MD; sister-in-law, Ruby Virginia Thornton of Milford, VA; special nieces,  Tawanda, Hilda, Julyssa, Myra, Lakisha, and special nephews, Trevon and Justin; a special aunt, Ruth Coleman, a special cousin, Cedric McManus; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very special and devoted friend of many years, Esther Dyson, of LaPlata, MD.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the funeral home with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private.

Due to COVID-19 a mask or face covering will be required.
