Minister Wanda Fortune Sweeney, 58, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 11, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Also known as Pastor Wanda, she was the daughter of Evelyn Coleman Fortune and the late Rev. Ellis Fortune. She was married to the late Leonard Sweeney, Sr. Two siblings, Ellis Pierre" Fortune and Deborah "Jill" Grant also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her mother; her son Leonard Sweeney, Jr.;
her brother, Rev. William Fortune; her sister, Selena "Kaye" Byrd; one spiritual sister and friend, Minister Brenda Dubose-Washington (Micheal); a loving nephew, Minister Brandon Fortune; and a host of dear cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 4 p.m.on Saturday, November 22, at New Destiny Baptist Church. 11903 Bowman Drive, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408-7338. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.
