Vivian Gail "Coodie" Childs, 48, of Glen Allen, VA. (formerly of Balty, VA. in Caroline Co.) entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the home of her sister, Gladys Childs-Russell in Glen Allen.

Vivian was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Woodford, VA. She was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools and worked over twenty years for Delta Pure Filtration, in Ashland.

"Coodie" loved music, family and friends. She loved to have cookouts to bring the family closer together. She was our solid rock who kept us all focused.

Vivian was born January 11, 1962, in Richmond, VA, to Viola L. Childs and the late William Bubbish Childs. Vivian leaves to cherish her memory one son, Dante' "Jr" Childs of Ruther Glen; her devoted mother, Viola Childs-Wilson and step-father, James "Boy" Wilson of Ruther Glen, VA; two sisters, Cynthia Childs of Ruther Glen and Gladys Childs-Russell of Glen Allen; two brothers, William Childs, Jr. (Michele) of Spotsylvania and Gary Childs of Ruther Glen; a half brother, James Latney of Bowling Green; a special granddaughter, Latea Childs of Richmond; five nephews, two nieces and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends.

A viewing will be Friday, August 6, from noon to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Caroline Community Services Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, VA 22514, with Elder Boa Ferguson, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
