Vanessa Galloway, 56 of Woodford, Virginia entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her residence.

Vanessa H. Galloway was born Vanessa Lynette Wallace on December 1, 1960 to her mother the late Margaret Anne Wallace at 11:00 p.m.

At eighteen months old, she was adopted by the late Albert Bernard and his wife, the late Gladys H. Howard. Vanessa accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School, sang on many choirs, most recently, singing on and directing the Senior Choir. She also sang with the United Gospel Stars. Vanessa was consecrated as a Deaconess of First Baptist Church in 2011 and was an active member of the Women's Ministry.

Vanessa attended Caroline County Public Schools, graduating from Caroline High School in 1979. She went on to study at Elon College, North Carolina where she received an Associate Degree in 1981 as a Medical Laboratory Technician.

Vanessa married Derrick A. Galloway and in 1989 they were blessed with twin daughters, Deaven Alycia and Danielle Ashley Galloway.

Vanessa practiced Phlebotomy for 37 years and taught Phlebotomy classes a number of years before her passing on November 21, 2017

She was preceded in death by sisters; Phyllis Giggetts , Tammy Wallace, Suzette Morton and brother, James Morton.

In addition to her daughters; Deaven and Danielle, Vanessa leaves to cherish her memory, six grandchildren; Mason, Justyn, Camille, Shane, Norah and Ari, her long-life friend; McCartha Pleasants; brothers Keith Wallace (Wanda), James Howard, Jeffery Morton; sisters, Joyce W. Bates, Karen Wallace-Hall, Vernell Wallace, Laura H. Freeman, Gerald Pepper (Jerome), Denise Morton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 9262 Guinea Station Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
