Tracy Wingfield was born May 29, 1962, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to the late Roscoe Wingfield and Christine Fortune Wingfield. Tracy peacefully departed his earthly life on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at VCU Medical Center.
Tracy was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools and graduated from Caroline High School. After graduation, he held various jobs and eventually worked for Richmond International Airport for ten years as a skycap. He continued working at the airport but began employment with JetBlue Airline where he was employed until his health failed.
Tracy joined St. John Baptist Church at an early age. After relocating to Richmond, he moved his membership to St. Paul's Baptist Church.
Tracy had a warm, infectious smile and a gentle spirit that radiated love and compassion. He had a great sense of humor and could always put a smile on everyone's face. He never met a stranger. He loved to watch western shows on television and was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders.
He leaves cherished memories to three children: Jermaine Johnson of Dawn, Virginia, Charmaine Johnson of Rosenburg, Texas and Shontae Wingfield of Richmond, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Jaiden, Kailin, Nasyla, Jermaine, Jeremiah, Melike, Kimora, and Nyla; six brothers, Dean Wingfield of New York, Percell S. Minor, Jr. (Brenda) of Milford, Virginia, Daniel Wingfield, Sr. of Richmond, Virginia, Lawrence Wingfield, Theodore Wingfield, Sr. (Kimberly), and Michael Wingfield all of Ashland, Virginia; two sisters, Ann Pass of Florida, Kathleen Minor Taylor of Milford, Virginia; one aunt, Gloria Barnes of Ruther Glen, Virginia; two uncles, Lucius Fortune (Myrtle) of Milford, Virginia and Frankie Wingfield of Ruther Glen, Virginia; two nephews, Daniel Wingfield, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada and Theodore Wingfield, Jr. of Ashland, Virginia; four nieces, Cherwanda Minor and Felicia Minor-Mewborn (Nathaniel) both of Milford, Virginia, Jene McWhirter of Delaware and Sydney Wingfield of Ashland, Virginia; devoted friends, Betty Ross and family, Frankie Carter, and Mimi Washington; and other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday April 5, 2024, at the C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 9132 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford, Virginia 22580, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
