Toussaint, affectionately known as "Toussie" to his family and close friends, was born at Freedman's Hospital in Washington, D.C. on June 13, 1951.  He departed this life on October 17, 2021, at his residence in D.C.

Toussaint grew up in Sparta, Virginia until his relocation to Washington, D.C. after the passing of his mother.  He attended Church services with his mother whenever he could.  He was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta under the leadership of Reverend Gregory Howard.

As a young boy, Toussaint enjoyed riding around and visiting family and friends with his father.  He had a dog named "Rags" that he was very fond of and would sit and talk endlessly to family, friends and even strangers about his dog.  After the death of his father, Toussaint remained in the home with his mother until her passing.  He was a great comfort to his mother and helped in the maintenance of their home.  Toussaint's communicative skills were enhanced from conversations with family/friends and watching television programs.  Watching television was his favorite pastime.  He especially loved the daily soap operas, particularly "The Young and The Restless" and he would talk endlessly about the character, 'Victor Newman'.  However, nothing could top his mother cooking.

Toussaint was loved by all, and he was at his happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends.  He truly loved those moments.  When his mother became ill, a devoted cousin and son, Gloria and Ricky, were there to care for them both.

After the death of his mother, his niece obtained legal guardian and conservatorship.  Toussaint was relocated to Washington, D.C. where he resided with his niece and family until moving into his own luxury apartment with assisted living.  He really enjoyed living on his own in his apartment and loved it when his friends came to visit.  He always looked forward to his weekly calls from his siblings—sisters, Delores and Shirley and brother, Gilbert.  He had three very special friends, Carlton and Greg, who lived in the same building as he did and

Toussaint and his two buddies were enrolled in Iona Adult Day Program where he interacted with fellow enrollees and staff.  There he enjoyed art, music, pets' day, and weekly outings, but most of all he enjoyed the senior lounge where he watched his TV programs.

Toussaint loved to go on vacations with family and friends to Atlanta, Georgia and Solomon's Island, Maryland.  He also enjoyed going on several cruises.  On his first cruise, Toussaint and his friends flew from Washington, D.C. to Miami, Florida to a welcoming party on Friday night and then boarded the Carnival Conquest on Saturday morning for seven days, visiting three islands.  On another cruise, Toussaint was accompanied by his niece on a three-day cruise out of New York.  He also had the opportunity of having a dinner cruise with his niece on the Odyssey while cruising down the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.

Toussaint was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Susie Jones; two sisters, Romaine Jones and Delores Bailey, and one brother, Hubert Jones.

Toussaint leaves cherished and fond memories to one sister, Shirley Alfred of Fort Washington, Maryland and one brother, Gilbert Jones (Murlene) of New Orleans, Louisiana; a very devoted niece, Telita Estes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
