Thomas Edward Wright, Sr. known to all as "Brew," departed this life suddenly on December 14, 2016 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. Brew was born April 15, 1947 to the late Wilton Wright, Sr. and Glenola Brown Wright.
Brew received his education in Caroline County and graduated from Union High School in 1965. He joined Beulah Baptist Church at an early age and rededicated and joined New Life Pentecostal Church in his later years. Brew retired from the U. S. Government Printing Office after 30 years of service. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Brew has always been a hard worker. In his early days, Brew provided community trash service and then went on to be the owner of Brew's Lawn Service.
He was united in marriage to Francyne Roye in 1966. They remained lifetime parents and friends. From this union they were blessed with three sons and a god daughter. To the relationship with his special friend Joyce Foxx, he was blessed with two more sons. Brew was a true friend to all that he came in contact with. He will always be remembered for his generosity and compassion for others.
He leaves to cherish his memory five sons; Kendall Wright, Sr. (Wanda) and Eric Wright (Noelle) of Spotsylvania, VA, Lowvell Wright (Elizabeth) of Ruther Glen, VA, Corey Wright (Nichelle) and Thomas Wright of Woodford, VA; god daughter LeShawn Pollard (Darrell) of Woodford, VA, fifteen grandkids; Angelo, Braedon, Corey Jr, Eric Jr., Kendrick, Kendall Jr., Lavell, Ciara, Kendra, Kiara, McKenzie, Mekhia, Nakita, Natasha, Shelita, and Sherika.; one god grandchild; Diontre; eight great-grandchildren; Quinn, Jayla, Lauren, Layla, Liah, Nyla, Riley, and Shamiya; four aunts; Cora Coates, Doris Chapman (Carl), Lelia Carter, and Ruth Wright; a close friend; Charles Walker, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior to one hour of service at St. John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580. Internment will follow in H & L Brown Family Cemetery, Cedon Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580.
