Thomas B. Scruggs, Sr., 71, of Aylett, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, May 4, 2009, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Survivors include one son, Thomas B. Scruggs, Jr. of Richmond, two daughters, Kimberly S. Robinson of Aylett and Sandra L. Carter of King William; three grandchildren; one Goddaughter, Tiffany Hence; one sister, Virginia E. Anderson of Hanover; nephew, Willie Earl Johnson; mother-in-law, Nettie Mae Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 12 Noon to 4 PM at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, VA and from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church, Aylett, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church, Aylett, VA with Rev. Evans C. White, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
