Thomas (Tom) Elisha Freeman made a peaceful transition to Heaven on June 4, 2021 at his residence. He showed great strength through challenging illnesses over the years.

Tom was born in Balty, Caroline County on March 6, 1945. He was the 6th child of his late parents, Virginia Boxley Freeman and Lloyd Hampton Freeman.

At a young age Tom became a faithful member of Saint John Baptist Church. Thomas was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools. Upon graduating from Union High School, he was employed at RF&P / (CSX), Keller Industries in Milford, Virginia and Veneer Plant in Fredericksburg, Virginia. As a youth, he and his siblings worked on their family farm. Growing tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, sweet potatoes and more. Although it was hard the Freeman clan all hung together and had some fun as well. Tom was a very cheerful person and would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed watching football and baseball and he was an avid fan of the Washington Football Team (formerly known as the Redskins).

Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Harmon and brother Bernard Freeman.

He leaves cherished memories to three sisters; Delores Freeman, Washington, DC Myrtle Fortune (Lucius) and Gloria Freeman both Ruther Glen, VA; two brothers, Raymond Freeman, Sr. Doswell, Virginia and Robert Freeman, Austin Texas, nieces; Otelia Green, (Sherwood), Amy Carter (James "Mike"), Bernita Jackson (Michael), Latonia Freeman, Doswell, VA, Trisha Coleman, Washington, DC, Keshia Freeman, Ruther Glen, VA, Verona Freeman, Los Angeles California, Divida Clary, (Albert), Austin, Texas, nephews; Lydell Fortune, Ruther Glen, VA; Marcus Freeman, Rodney Freeman, Doswell, VA, Kenneth Freeman, King George, VA and Warner Coleman, Washington, DC, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Two devoted friends, Deacon Mack Lee & Walter Monroe.

A walk through viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Homegoing Celebration will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in Saint John Baptist Church Cemetery, 17080 S. River Road, Woodford, VA. 22580.

Due to COVID 19 a mask or face covering will be required.
