Obituary

Steven Chavel Ware, affectionately known as "Stevie", transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Center in King George, VA.

Stevie was born on January 18, 1960, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyster and Eula Ware in Washington, DC. A few years later, the family moved to Spotsylvania, Virginia where he later attended Spotsylvania Public Schools. After graduating from Spotsylvania High School, Stevie continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. Following graduation, Stevie began working for the Department of Education as a Network Engineer for many years before taking employment as a government contractor until his health declined.

Stevie accepted Christ at an early age at First New Hope Baptist Church in Partlow, Va. He later moved his membership to join the Apostolic Faith Temple in Spotsylvania where he worked with the youth in the church and later was ordained as a Deacon.

Stevie loved to read. In his spare time, you could find Stevie reading comic books, collecting swords, and cooking gourmet meals. He loved different types of artworks and would often draw cartoon characters as well as pictures of family members. He also enjoyed watching Star Trek on TV, but his true passion was working on computers, as the computer-wiz he was. Stevie also loved his furry friend, a special cat named "Georgie".

Stevie was preceded in death by his parents, Boyster and Eula Ware, his brother Donald "Donnie" Ware, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He leaves to mourn his pride and joy, his children: Montrell Ware (Serrena) and Shari Ware; one grandchild, Sakura; two brothers, Reginald "Reggie" Ware (Raydene) of Fort Washington, MD, Blaine Ware of Kentucky; two sisters, Tawana Frye (John) of Woodford, VA and Charlene Gwathmey (Benford) of Richmond, VA; two uncles, Thomas Trotter (Adelaine) of Dinwiddie, VA and Robert Trotter Jr. of Petersburg, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
