Shauntay was born on September 10, 1989, at Mary Washington Hospital. She attended Caroline County Public Schools in Milford, Virginia, and later obtained employment with the custodial team at Spotsylvania Towne Centre, where she was loved and appreciated by her coworkers.
She was the beloved daughter of Michael E. Ross and Arlene Washington. Shauntay was also a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her children, Seandon Myers and Shynise Owens. Her love, strength, and dedication to her family will remain an enduring source of comfort and inspiration.
Shauntay was preceded in death by her brother, Antonio Monroe; her grandparents, Ada M. Ross, Emma L. Washington, and Richard Washington; and her great-grandparents, Ada Mahoney, Annie Washington, and Luetta R. Wingfield.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Michael E. Ross and Arlene Washington; her beloved children, Seandon Myers and Shynise Owens; her siblings, Latasha Lawrence of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Lakisha Young and Cartel Young of Newport News, Virginia.
She also leaves a devoted circle of aunts and uncles, including Greta and Allen Scott of Ruther Glen, Virginia; Francine R. Thurston of Louisa, Virginia; Beverly R. Freeman of Bowling Green, Virginia; William Ross; James Ross of Ruther Glen, Virginia; Rev. Alice and Maurice Woods of Ladysmith, Virginia; Ruby Washington, Edith Washington, Richard Washington Jr., Raymond Washington, Michael Washington, William Washington, Edward Washington, Ronald Washington, and Anthony Washington, all of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
In addition to her family, Shauntay leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Shauntay's life was a blessing, and memory to treasure. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1:30 pm at the Caroline County Community Center located at 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia, 22514.
