Obituary

Sharonne G. Monroe was born on Nov. 15, 1945, to the late Annie Latney Winfrey and Willis "Big Boy" Monroe. Charles L. Winfrey was her stepfather.

Sharonne departed this life on Nov. 7, 2011, at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville.

She leaves to cherish her memory one godson, Anthony Wright of Alexandria; four sisters, Jackie Shelton (Michael) of Bowling Green, Mary Ann Latney (Oliver) of Wichita, Kan., Phyllis Colbert (Kimmon) of Ruther Glen, and Barbara Monroe of Ruther Glen; one brother, Jack Willis Monroe of Ruther Glen; eight uncles, Eddie Monroe, Walter Monroe (Judy), Leroy Monroe (Ethel), Thomas Monroe (Sally Ann), Julian Monroe, Willie Latney, James Childs of Bowling Green and devoted uncle Herman Latney (Vivian); two devoted cousins, Dora Latney Edenton of Woodford and Cindy Graham of Fredericksburg; three special caregivers, Bertha Coleman, Paul Wright and David Morris, all of Alexandria; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 12, from noon to 8 p.m. at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Va. 22427.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Chastine Rock delivering the eulogy.
