Sandy LaVerne Coleman, 53, of Bowling Green, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Sandy was born August 29, 1961 to Pearl Lee Belcher and the late Joseph Eugene Fortune in Richmond, Virginia.
Sandy married John Coleman in December 1991 and anyone who knew either of them knows that when you saw one, you saw the other.
Sandy received her education in the Caroline County School System. She was a very kind hearted, humble spirited and giving person. Her passion was cooking and taking care of everybody. She loved kids most of all, that's why she devoted 15 years to the school cafeteria and 32 years driving the bus. You can ride by the County Library and see her brightly painted book mobile that she loved to take out to the kids each week.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories a loving and devoted husband, John Coleman, Sr.; five children, Lisa Coleman, Alisha Coleman, Tracy Coleman, John Coleman, Jr. and Kimberly Coleman; three brothers, Theodore Fortune, Tony Stewart and Sherman Stewart; three sisters, Christine Williams, Carolyn Carter and Candy Stewart; two devoted sisters-in-law, Sherita and Bonita Stewart; twelve grandchildren, three aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 5, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Saturday.
