Russell Phillip Jones, 63, of Bowling Green, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Russell was the youngest born to the late Edward Russell and Marjorie Olive Woods Jones.

Russell is survived by one sister, Edwina Hudson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one uncle, Deacon Gus Jones (Deaconess Olivia) of Bowling Green; devoted friends, Keith and Annie Chatman, Robert and Earl Latney; several special friends Deloris Bailey, Marjorie Moore, Johnnie and Marie Noland, Gloria Samuels, Cecil and Fannie Sprouse and Shirley Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 20, from noon to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Sparta, Virginia 22552. Rev. Jared Beasley will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
