Obituary

"Saviour do not pass me by"

Ronald Spencer Gray was born September 14, 1942, in Bryn Mawr, Pa. to the late Mabel and Earl Gray. He departed this life November 6, 2024. A Union High School graduate of 1961 he played the saxophone in a local band called "The Flames" which was managed by his father. He was a self-taught organ player. As a teen he would sneak and push his car out the driveway and then start it in the street. Raised in a loving Christian home he served as a junior deacon at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Sparta, Va.

Ronnie worked for the federal government and retired at a young age. He then worked with many different moving companies for many years traveling all over our country. Returning home he choose a quiet life except for shopping at Food Lion. He traveled to NY and Pa to visit his loving sister. He enjoyed playing his oldies record collection, cycling, and loved candy, can't forget Ronnie being a stylish dresser.

Ronnie's greatest joy and excitement was bragging about his son Charles & grandson Jevon and their visits. Ronnie was blessed to have known all of his Gray's and Holley grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mabel Holley Gray and Earl William Gray of Bowling Green Va., brother, Charles Earl Gray of Richmond Va., and (son) Kenneth Sydnor of Washington, D.C.

He will be sadly missed by his son Charles Earl Gray II of Richmond, Va, grandson Jevon Butler of Colorado Springs, sister Nancie Gray-Lee Phoenixville, Pa, former wife Ernestine Gray of Fredericksburg, Va, Nephews; James Bailey (Renae), Great and Great/Great, Nieces; Renae and great-great niece of Tucson, Az,  La Robb Earl (Janice) Lee, great nephew Immanuel Hercules, CA.
