Obituary

Robert Allen Jackson, Sr. was born October 31, 1943 in Spotsylvania, Virginia, to loving and devoted parents, Jestinus and Lorraine Jackson. He departed this life March 11, 2012 at the age of 68 at his residence.

He was affectionately known as "Bob" or "Robert A." to his family and close friends. He was a graduate of John J. Wright, class of 1963. He was a member of Prospect Lodge #121, Spotsylvania, Virginia.

In his youth, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized as a member of Branch Fork Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, Virginia.

Robert leaves a legacy of love for his family and friends and many cherished memories. Robert shared a special bond with his granddaughters in which he was known as "Pa Pa".

He was employed as a certified auto painter at Aldridge Ford Lincoln Mercury for 34 years. He retired from the dealership and began working for Spotsylvania County until his health began to fail. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Edward Jackson.

He leaves with cherished memories his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Y. Jackson; two sons, Casey (Tammy) and Robert A. Jackson, Jr. (Crystal) and one daughter, Rhonda (Wendell) Armstead; four granddaughters, Ciera and Charde Armstead of Caroline County; Shayla Jackson of New Jersey and Aleya Jackson of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one grandson, Brandon Woolridge; two great grandchildren, Mykaiyah and Analei Armstead; four Brothers, Theodore (Denise) Jackson, Jestinus (Angel) Jackson, Bernard (Gladys) Jackson and Ross Jackson; three Sisters, Barbara (Dan) Richardson, Rosetta Williams and Vernell Jackson; one Aunt, Ella Mae Coleman, sister In law, Jackie Wright, two brothers-in-law, Ronald (Phyllis) Byrd, Ricky Byrd; eleven nephews, Keith, Derick, Deon, Kevin, Ricky Jr., Melvin, Cameron, Tutus, T.J., Jestinus II and William; twelve nieces, Pam, Nadine, Tonya, Monica, Melvina, Betteen, Monik, Eureka, Brittany, Athelia, Jessica and Jennifer. Two dear and special friends, Thomas "Brew" Wright and Joseph DeGraff and a host of cousins, other relatives and Friends.

This flower was special and it was hard to let go.
This flower's now thriving in a much better place where it will not grow older,
its beauty will not fade, and it will live forever.

A Celebration of Life service for Robert will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 12 Noon at Beulah Baptist Church, 5216 Arcadia Road, Woodford, Va., 22580. The Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Young, Pastor, will deliver the eulogy.

Remains may be viewed two hours prior to funeral service (10am - 12noon).

Interment will be in the H. L. Brown Family Cemetery in Cedon, Virginia.
