Robert Clifton Fortune Sr., 92, departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at his son's residence in Springdale, MD.

Robert, affectionately known as Clifton and "Pop Charlie", was born March 3, 1923, to the late Idell Braxton and Bidy H. Fortune.

A viewing will be held from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 29, at St. John Baptist Church, 17080 S. River Road, Woodford, with the Rev. Dr. W.G. Berryman delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
