Robert Thomas Ferguson of Caroline County entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Robert was born September 7, 1934, to the late Preston and Marion Ferguson.

He was married to the late Mary Christian Ferguson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Oscar Christian, Michael Ferguson and his wife, Yvonne; one daughter, Lisa Dabney and her husband, Reggie; six grandsons, Michael, Marcus, Mario, Tyrese Ferguson, Dondre and Justin Dabney; three granddaughters, Denise Preston, Shavone Pope and Kaneshia Pope; four great grandchildren; two uncles, James and MacArthur Coleman; eight sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by one son, William Ferguson.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 28, from noon to 8 p.m. at First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 18014 Dawn Blvd., Hanover,(Dawn) Virginia 23069, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 1st at First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Dawn, with Rev. Curtis Harris, Jr. delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
