Robert F. Turner, of Woodford, Va. went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Robert was born on March 20, 1922, in Caroline County, Virginia, to the late John and Mary King Turner.
He joined Beulah Baptist Church, at an early age and attended public schools in Caroline County. Robert had a quiet and gentle spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Robert loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by one brother, John James Turner (Minnie) of Woodford and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Annie T. Wright, one brother, Willie King and a devoted cousin, Mae Rose Thompson.
A viewing will held on Friday, June 4, from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Otis L. Kay, Sr. delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery in Cedon.
