Robert G. "Bob" Dabney, 52, departed this life on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at his home in Port Royal, Virginia. He was the son of the late John Dabney, Sr. and Alma Dabney.
Robert attended public schools in Stafford County, Virginia and spent most of his working life as a diesel mechanic. He was an expert in the evaluation and repair of large trucks.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Stacy Laverne Robinson on March 3, 1999. They have one daughter, Britney.
Robert accepted Jesus as His Savior at Little Union Baptist Church, Dumfries, Virginia. Later in life during his union with Stacy, he joined Jericho Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Glen Leverette. In August, 2007, Robert joined Beth-El Christian Center in Woodford, Virginia where he faithfully attended services at Beth-El until his health failed. Robert, also aiming to gain mre knowledge of God, attended some courses at the Fredericksburg Bible Institute and at the Beth-El Christian Center Bible Institute.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Stacy Dabney; one daughter, Britney; his mother, Alma Dabney; two sisters: Renee Hill and Wanda Dabney; five brothers: John Jr., James, Larry, Michael Sr., and Charles Dabney; three sisters-in law: Jane, Ladiva and Lavoniya); one brother-in-law: Wade Hill and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing will be held from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Monday at the Church.
The Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 13, 2012 at First Mt. Zion, 17065 Seals Road, Sparta, Virginia 22552 with Rev. Delphine Coleman giving the eulogy.
Interment will be in the Church cemetery.
