Robert Earl Beasley, Sr., affectionately known as "Rat" quietly entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at his home in Bowling Green, Virginia. He was born on June ll, 1942, in Sparta, Virginia to the late William and Margaret Beasley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Doris; two sons, Robert Beasley, Jr. of Sparta, Virginia and Corey Beasley of Forestville, Maryland; two sisters, two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 19, from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 20, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Sparta, Virginia 22552. Rev. Jared Beasley, pastor, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
