God saw her eyes were getting tired, so on April 6, 2024, he reached down, whispered and said, "it's time to come home and rest". Rhoda passed away peacefully at Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center with her daughter and her son-in-law John Robinson (JD) by her side.

Rhoda Lorraine Washington better known as "Babysis" was born on July 27, 1952, to the late Amos and Isabelle Washington in Caroline County Virginia.

She was educated in the Caroline County Public School system and graduated from Bowling Green Senior High School in 1970. After high school she was employed by a pharmacy in Washington DC for a number of years, later to work at Temple Rodef Shalom until she retired.

Babysis was always the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook, loved music and loved to dance. She was a stickler when it came to cleanliness. If you got out of line, she would quickly let you know. If you knew her well then you definitely know this. She was a loving person who was fun and cared deeply for her family and friends.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her brothers Lloyd (Teene) Washington, James Walter Lee, and her lifetime partner Franklin Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving, caring and devoted daughter Pamela Washington- Kemper; sister Louise Freeman (Willie); brothers Jimmie Washington (Emily), Charlie Washington and Edward Washington Sr, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; devoted friends Bernice Wingfield, Rose Elder and Christine Lee.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 20, 2024, at Caroline Community Services Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514.
