Reginald Arthur Beverly, 102, of Glen Allen, Virginia, formerly of Ruther Glen, Virginia, entered eternal rest peacefully at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
Mr. Beverly was a graduate of Virginia State University and a retired math and science teacher in Caroline and Louisa Counties in Virginia. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a surveyor in the 95th Engineering Regiment.
He is survived by two daughters, Claudia B. Rollins (Jerome) and Katrina B. Gill (Edward) and one son-in-law, James Russell Bennett, III. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Kia Bennett, Latice B. Mitchell (Joseph), James Bennett, IV (Sakina), KaShauna G. Rohlehr (Justin), Edward Gill, Jr. (Deticia) and Jerome Rollins, Jr. (Charletta); six great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Ruth Beverly. He was preceded in death by his life, Bessie Johnson Beverly and one daughter, Senora B. Bennett.
A Christian wake will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oxford Mount Zion Baptist Church, 25215 Zion Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546. Friends and family are welcome to share memories beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the church followed by interment in the church cemetery.
