On November 19, 2022, God sent his angels down from Heaven to bring Raymond Leslie Garnett home to be with Him Raymond died at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Raymond was born in Caroline County to the late Leslie D. Garnett and Dollie A. Carter Garnett.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Shumansville, Virginia. He was active in the church and was always there when called upon to do God's work. He was a member of the Trustee Board and Ushers Ministry.
Raymond graduated from Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia. He was employed at Jones Chemicals, Inc. in Milford, Virginia for many years until his retirement.
Raymond married Florence G. Lee and to this union three children were born Ray, Mack and Mark.
Six siblings preceded him in death, Clara Beverly, Herbert Garnett, Dorothy Edwards, Melvin Garnett, John Garnett and William Garnett.
He leaves cherished memories to a loving wife; Florence , three sons; Ray (Barbara), Mack (Tonia) and Mark (Rozeta); grandchildren; Morgan, William, Joshua, and Mark, Jr., sister Vernelle Greene (Anthony); brother in law, Earl Lee (Maxine), nieces; Shirley, Kathy, Betty, Susan, (James), Joann (John), nephews; Frankie, Sean, Brandon, special great grandson, Tevari; devoted sons, Rod Gray (Lillie), Warren Brown (Medra), Tony Gray and numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Caroline Community Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Mount Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery, 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Virginia 22514.
Due to COVID-19 a mask or face covering is required.
