Ray Edwin Callahan, 49, of Woodford, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Ray was born on October 14, 1965 to Walter and Rosie Callahan of Woodford, Virginia.
Ray attended Caroline County Public Schools where he participated in numerous sports and activities. As a young child, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia.
Ray touched many lives and hearts throughout his life's journey. His charm and laid-back personality was sure to make anyone smile. Being a Steeler's fan, he enjoyed talking football and basketball with all of his friends and family, especially Uncle Walter Lee.
Ray is survived by his parents, Walter and Rosie Callahan; one son, Cornell Ogburn; one granddaughter, Paris Ogburn; two brothers, James Parker (Annette) and Rick Curry (Bertha); two sisters, Vienna Morris (devoted caregiver) and Sobrina Anderson (Antonio); god sister, Angelique King; two special in-laws, James Morris and Deitra Greenhow; very special friend and ex-wife, Eugenia Callahan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 5, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmod Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the Community Center on Saturday.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 6, at Caroline County Community Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church, Woodford, Virginia 22580.
