Purcell Garnett, 76, of Alexandria, Virginia, formerly of Essex County, entered eternal rest on Mach 1, 2010. He was the son of the late Hillie and Lucky Garnett.

He is survived by four children, Larry and Patricia Garnett of Alexandria, Lisha Murphy (Donzell), Darryl Garnett (Barbara) of Woodbridge, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one sister, Elizabeth Green of Supply.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3207 Quarter Hill Road, Supply, Virginia with the Rev. Irving Woolfolk, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
