Phillip Earl Lee, 74, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Bowling Green, Virginia. Phillip, affectionately known as "Toad," was born on August 22, 1940, in Caroline County to the late Elijah F and N. Delmore Lee.

He received his education from St. James Elementary and Union High Schools. Toad spent most of his adult life in Richmond, Virginia where he lived and worked for over 40 years. He worked for Wilson-Finley Construction Company, as well as, a variety of landscaping jobs. Later in life, he moved back to Caroline County where he rejoined his home church, St. James Baptist Church and became a member of the Men's Club Ministry.

Toad was a jovial person who enjoyed teasing and joking with family and friends. He could be counted on to be helpful and generous with his time. Toad was very neat and, with his belt buckled on the side, insisted that his clothes be pressed with razor sharp creases, his shoes be shined to high gloss and his wallet be chained to his belt.

Toad leaves to cherish his memory five sisters, Louis Forbes of Washington, D.C., Dorothy Peay (Gonzales) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Margaret Brown (John) of Milford, Virginia, Ruby V. Samuel of Milford, Virginia and Sally Waller of Bowling Green, Virginia; special friend, Carolyn Jones; lifelong friend, Roosevelt Childs; close friends, Ronald Gray, Beverly and Marjorie Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 28, at St. James Baptist Church,19514 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514, with Rev. Dr. Charles Baugham, delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation,
