On Saturday, November 17, 2018 Percell Myers slipped peacefully into eternal rest at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Percell was born May 18, 1947 to the late Mary Edith Myers Taylor and William Leonard Taylor. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Taylor; brother Jerry Jerome Taylor; paternal grandparents, Pearl Taylor and Henry Grant Taylor; maternal grandparents, Lucy Belle Myers, Merrill Ross and Rosie Myers; dedicated cousins, Richard Myers, and Wesley Chapman and aunt Roberta Chapman.
Percell accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend A.P. Young and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Virginia. Percell received his education from Union Elementary and Union High School in Milford, Virginia. He was employed by Woodlawn Construction Company; Caroline County school system as a custodian and groundskeeper and later moved his employment to Caroline County Public Works as a landfill attendant where he remained until he retired.
Percell was a good hearted person, with warm and generous ways until you stirred him up and he would get mean as a grizzly bear, then he would be sure to tell you about yourself whether you liked it or not. As you must know he was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. You would often hear him saying that he was the best whist player in Caroline County.
Percell leaves cherish memories to his twin brothers; William "Frye" Leonard Taylor and Henry" Rabbit" Grant Taylor (Zest); two devoted sisters, Mary Anna Johnson (Nathaniel) and Bertha Eura; two aunts, Lucille Myers and Margaret Brooks; two sisters-in-law, Lenora Foxx and Joyce Taylor; nieces, London Taylor, Tanesha, Malasha and Vanesha Foxx; nephews, Dominque, Demarco, Henry, Howard and Jerry Foxx; devoted caregiver and cousin Carolyn Day; special cousin -in-law Margaret Myers; devoted friends, Hewby Raymond ,Reverend Curtis Wright and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Milford, Virginia 22514.
