Pauline Hudson Young, 93, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 25, 2015, at her son's residence in St. Stephens Church, Virginia.
Pauline was born on August 25, 1922, to the late Eugene and Mary Maude Hudson in Caroline County, Virginia. Pauline was the youngest girl of nine children. She joined Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age and was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. She did domestic work and farming along with her husband in her early years. She also loved working in her yard, fishing and spending time with her family.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, James, Jr.; six brothers, Raymond, Roland, James, Jerrell, Clarence and Harvey; two sisters, Nettie and Alma; and two grandchildren.
Pauline leaves loving memories to three daughters, Annie, Gloria and Doris all of Bowling Green, Virginia; two sons, Robert (Faye) of Richmond, Virginia and Charles (Carolyn) of St. Stephens Church, Virginia; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, one devoted niece, Pearl Lee Belcher, a devoted friend, Barbara and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including our First Lady, Pamela Beasley.
A viewing will be held Friday, October 2, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 3, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Sparta, Virginia 22552 with Rev. Jared Beasley delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
