Otis Jones, 78, of Ruther Glen, Virginia passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 29, 2009.

He was the son of the late McKinley and Susie Jones.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mrs. Madeline Jones; three daughters, Vanessa Whiting, Debra Jones and Pamela Wright; five sons, Otis, Jr., Phillip, Michael, Jeffrey, and Jarrod Jones; two daughters-in-law, Diana and Tracy Jones; one son-in-law, Raymond Wright, Jr., ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; three brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 3, 2009 at First Mt. Zion (Sparta) Baptist Church, 17065 Seals Road, Bowling Green, VA 22427 with the Rev. Otis L. Kay, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemtery.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, VA with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
