Othar P. Fortune, 59, affectionately known as Coo-Moo, of Newtown, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 27, 2009, at Riverside Hospital, Tappahannock, Virginia.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Fortune; one son, Delwin Fortune (Benita); one daughter, Dominique Fortune; two grandchildren, Maleah and Dallas; two step-daughaters; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces; one great nephew; two aunts; six brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 7820 Newtown Road, Newtown, VA 23126 with the Rev. Dennis Dabney officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2009 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Saturday.
