Orlean Helen Young's Obituary
Orlean Helen Young entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at her home in Newtown, VA.
She was born on January 17, 1922 in Bowling Green, VA to the late Thornton and Irene Evans.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, William T. Young (Rose) of Tappahannock, VA and Richard L. Young (Rev. Virginia) of Newtown, VA; eight daughters, Orlean Johnson of Ruther Glen, VA, Jean Jones of Houston, TX, Estelle Dabney of Charlotte, NC, Joyce Garth (Johnny) of Chattanooga, TN, Janice Young of Oxon Hill, MD, Roberta Hopkins of Upper Marlboro, MD, Pamela Beasley (Rev. Jared) of Bowling Green, VA and Rev. April Brickle of Roanoke, VA; twenty-two grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Richard and Jesse Evans of Milford, VA; three sisters, Louise Wingfield, Joyce Ray of Baltimore, MD and Gloria Howard of Chester, PA; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Sandy Evans and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Young, Sr., a son, James "Jimmy" Young, Jr., and a brother, Ernest Evans.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 18 from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, VA.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at Second Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 17247 New Baltimore Road, Milford, VA 22514, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mt. Lawn Cemetery, Woodford, VA.
