Nona Marie McReynolds McLean entered eternal life on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Annapolis, Maryland after a long illness. She was born on September 15, 1950, in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Albert T. McReynolds, Jr. and the late Ivone Parker McReynolds. Nona was the eldest daughter of six children of which her oldest brother Albert T. McReynolds, III (Tommy) preceded her in death.


Nona attended Caroline County public schools in Virginia. After graduating in 1968, she went on to gainful employment as a Patrol Officer with the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department. Beginning in 1980 and for the next 20 years, her District of Columbia government career escalated to the level of Investigator within the Department of Human Services. She eventually retired from public service in 2008 and then subsequently, performed managerial contract work with the United Planning Organization.

The most important role of her life was the dedication she had to raising her pride and joy Paul Reginald McLean. While working, attending various college classes and raising a family, Nona enjoyed traveling the globe and did so with style.

Nona leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Paul R. McLean, a sister, Carla A. Mills (Marvin); three brothers, Michael M. McReynolds (April), Byran Kirk McReynolds (Sherrie) and Kevin McReynolds (Cynthia); an uncle, Arnold R. McReynolds; an aunt, Elsie W. Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

All attendees should arrive at the C. W. Edwards Funeral Home.  The address is 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, VA 22427 no later than 1:00 p.m. in order to join the funeral procession to the grave site.
A graveside service will take place within the Parker family cemetery on Dodge City Road, Bowling Green, Virginia on Saturday, February 24, 2024, promptly at 2:00 p.m.  Rev. Lance Jeter officiating.
