Minnie Turner, 88, of Woodford, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 1, 2013 after a long illness.
She was born on April 23, 1925 in Chambers, Alabama, to the late William and Serlious Gunn. She was the youngest of eight siblings who all preceded her in death.
Minnie Gunn was joined in holy matrimony to John James Turner on March 26, 1946 in Rockville, Maryland, and to this union two children were born: Leroy and Linda.
Survivors include her son, Leroy Turner of Woodford, Virginia and her daughter, Linda Turner (Marvin Earl) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; four grandchildren: Rayna Caution (Kevin), Nichole Gray (Darron), Gregg Turner, and Patrice Artis (Antoine); four great-grandchildren: Kelvin Caution II, Kayla Caution, Sania Hanks, and Aaron Jenkins; two nephews: Reed Wright, Jr. (Jeanne) and Waddell Gunn; seven nieces: Bertha M. Wright, Geraldine Lewis (deceased),
Margaret Stevens (Bobby), Ruby Chew (deceased), Frances Wright, Delores Brown (Melvin), and Winifred (Roberts); and a host of cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia and one hour before the service on Thursday.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the C. W. Edwards Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bowling Green, Virginia.
