Michael Nolan Smith was born on December 24, 1972 to the proud parents Herman Roy and Rita Smith in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was the second of two children.

Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia.

Michael was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools in Milford, Virginia.

In the year 2000, Michael united in Holy Matrimony with Kristie Simms. God blessed them with twelve children.

At the time of his death Michael was employed as a Service Technician with Reese Trucking in Dumfries, Virginia.

Michael departed this life at Henrico Doctors Hospital on May 28, 2011. He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife Kristie; twelve children, Michael, Michelle, Chelsea, Nicole, Nicholas (twins), Katlyn, Faith, Hope (twins), Vichael, Lamar, Chenelle and Armani; parents, Roy and Rita Smith; one brother Ryan O. Smith of Woodford, Va.; Godparents, Robert and Sheila Brown; God sister, Tracey Brown; God brother, Chazz Brown; one aunt, Trina White, Spotsylvania, Va.; three uncles, Jamie White (Carol), Richmond, Va., Corey White (Ramona), Spotsylvania, Va. and Tyson White, Spotsylvania, Va.; father-in-law, Robert Simms; mother-in-law, Roberta Simms; sister-in-law, Nicole Samuel (Wayne); brother-in-laws, Robert Simms and Corey Simms; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Michael was a loving son, husband and father. He enjoyed drag car racing. We will always remember his smile and fun spirit.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2 from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Beulah Baptist Church, 5216 Arcadia Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580. Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Young will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
