Michael Barry Pierce entered this world on September 18, 1947 in Washington D.C.  the son of Beulah Pierce. At a very young age he came to live with his Aunt Christell and Uncle Jessie Deyo, who raised and loved him as their own.

He was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church where he dedicated his life and service for the Lord.  He served as an usher, Men's choir member, Sunday School teacher and Superintendent.  For over 50 years he served as a Deacon holding the roles of Chairperson and Vice Chair.

Michael attended school on File road and graduated from Union High School in 1966.  After high school his employment years covered Foreign Domestic Lumber, Carter Brothers and Southland/McLane where he retired in 2011 after 34 years of employment.   After his retirement from McLane Michael was able to assist as a caregiver for his mother in law Carrie Rollins, who told him that he was the best son-in-law any mother in law could ask for.

On August 18, 1978 he married the woman who captured his heart, Beverly Rollins.  To this union they were blessed with Kriztina "Krissy"  the daughter who wrapped him around her finger and will always be the joy of his heart and love.

Deacon Mike was a great husband, a good father, a loving sibling and a great friend to all. But most importantly a servant of God.

He is survived by his one and only wife, Beverly; his pride and joy daughter- Kriztina, his "adopted" son Kevin Rollins. His brothers Everett Davis, Jr, and Stefon Deyo,  Sisters ,Edwina Woolfolk (Irving), Brenda Smith (George) , Cecelia Foxx and Janice Deyo.  There was one brother who predeceased him Jessie Arthur Deyo.

A Christian wake will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from  6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Jerusalem Baptist Church with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in  St Stephen's Baptist Church Cemetery, 29346 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514.

Rev Irving Woolfolk, Jr. will be officiating and eulogy will be delivered by Rev. Jared Beasley.
