Maxine Odesser Jack son was born on January 23, 1951 , to the late John W. and Myrtle G. Jackson. She departed this life on May 14, 2020. Preceding her in death are her beloved parents; three brothers; and one sister.

She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age , be coming a member of the Providence Baptist Church of Aylett, V A , and remained an a ctive member unt il the Lord called her home . Maxine was a member of the J. L. Hobson Memorial Choir and was presently serving as its President . F aithfully each week, she joy fu lly attended church services , actively participating in S unday school and midweek services when her health allowed her to. Maxine was always willing to help where ne eded for the upl ifting of God's kingdom.

H e r secondary education was obtained through the King William County Public School system. She was employed with Tyson Foods I nc . (Holly Farms) for over 30 years , retiring from the company in 2008 . .

Maxine was known for bringing joy and laughte r to everyone she met. No one was a stranger ; if she didn't know you at "Hello , " she knew you at "Goodbye ." She had a great love for people and par ticularly her family. She devoted her time and energy to all the kids in the family and area. Anyone that k new her knows she had an undying love for children. A lthough s he didn't have any biological children, Maxine was the mother figure to many.

W henever you stopped by to see her, s he would make sure you were fed . She loved to cook and was known for fixing everything to perfec tion if you let her tell it. Her famous pot ato salad, macaroni and cheese, and pound cake will never be duplicated.

Maxine leaves behind to cherish fond memories of her remai ning siblings , Bertha Green of Washington D. C . , Jo hn E. Jackson and Doris J. Robinson of Aylett, V A ; two sisters-in-law , E velyn Jackson of Aylett, VA and Annie "Mae" Jackson of Petersburg, VA. A lso mourning her de parture are a host of dedicated nephews and nieces ; a special n ie c e Eunice Pollard, with whom she shared a bond of love and care, a nd a special great - n ie ce , Sharnell Jackson ; many other relatives and friends , and a faithful friend Rose Mary Stokes.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 22,2020 at Providence Baptist Church 4570 Dorrelll Rd, Aylett, VA 23009, also where funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23,2020.
