Maxine Lee Coleman Jackson, was the eldest of seven children born to the late Garland W. Coleman and Sarah Coleman Childs. After a long illness she departed this life on February 9, 2019 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Maxine received her education in the Caroline County School System. Maxine joined St. James Baptist Church at an early age. She loved to cook and go shopping at Wal-Mart. In April of 1992 she was united matrimony to Curtis Jackson.
Her brother Garland W. Coleman Jr. preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Curtis Jackson, one son; William Coleman of Boston, Mass. two daughters; Angelica Hughes of St. Louis, MO., Katrina Simmons of Bowling Green, Virginia, four sisters; Carolyn Jones of Ladysmith, Virginia, Cindy Graham (Jimmy) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Brenda Monroe of Hopewell, Virginia, and Melanie Dunton (Mike) of Richmond, Virginia, four brothers; Kevin Coleman (Barbara) of Richmond, Virginia, Alvester Coleman (Lisa) of Milford ,Virginia, Rev. Chandler Coleman (Charita), of Bowie, Md., Waverly Coleman Jr. (Sabrena) of Dalles,Tx., nine grandchildren, a step-father James Childs of Bowling Green, Virginia, one step-brother; Tyrone Childs of Bowling Green, Virginia, two step-sisters; Yvette Jones (Willie) Fort Washington,Md., and Angela Hartrige (Robert) of Temple Hills, Md., two uncles; Phillip Coleman (Urcell) of Ruther Glen, Virginia., and Roy Coleman of Ohio, three aunt's ; Vivian Latney of Bowling Green, Virginia, Barbara Wallace of Woodbridge, Virginia, Lottie Smith of Ruther Glen, Virginia, five brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the C.W.Edwards Funeral Home 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green,Viriginia 22427.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. James Baptist Church 19514 Sparta Road, Milford , Virginia 22546. Interment will be private.
