Mary E. Morris, affectionately known to many as "Teenie" was the 2nd
of 10 children born to the late Jacob and Gladys Lewis in Caroline
County, Virginia. She attended Woolfolk grade school and continued
her education at Union Elementary School. She departed this life on
Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg,
VA.
Teenie joined Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age and was
employed with Norfleet Products, Fredericksburg, Virginia for many
years.
Teenie loved her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She
loved flowers, gardening with her husband and they shared the
vegetables with the family and the community.
She was united in Holy matrimony to James E. Morris, Jr. on December
21, 1961 and to this union she was blessed with two children, Gladys
Mae Banks and James "Eddie" Morris, III both of Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Two brothers Eddie and Leonard Lewis and one sister Rosa Lewis
preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter; Gladys Mae Banks
Timothy) and son James "Eddie" Morris (Charmaine) both of
Spotsylvania, VA, one stepson James "Robert" Parker (Annette) of
Woodford, VA, one stepdaughter Katricey Richburg of Baltimore, MD.
Four Brothers: James, Bernard, and Charles Lewis of Woodford, VA,
Joe Lewis of Baltimore, MD, one brother-in-law Roy Rock of
Spotsylvania, VA. Two sisters: Beatrice Lewis of Woodford, VA and
Emma Lou Christopher of Fredericksburg, VA. Seven sisters-in-law:
Rev. Ocellia Lewis, Helen Lewis, and Eva Lewis all of Woodford, VA,
Rosa Marie of Baltimore, MD, Vivian Comfort, Joyce Rock and Gladys
Rock all of Spotsylvania, VA, 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren,
and several step-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her.Devoted daughter Gladys, daughter-in-law
Charmaine, son-in-law Tim, sister Emma Lou and brother Charles who
all served as caregivers.
Visitation: Friday, March 11, 2016 from 12 Noon - 8 PM at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc.
Celebration of Life Service: Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12 Noon with a viewing one hour before service at Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 9132 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford, Virginia 22580
