Mary Coleman McManus, 70, of Sparta, Virginia in Caroline County departed this life on Monday, April 27, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Hospital in Mechanicsville.

Mary Evelyn Coleman McManus, the daughter of the late Trip and Lealia Coleman was born January 11, 1939. She was educated in the Caroline County School System. She joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age.

She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, Sophia McManus-Price of Sparta, VA, two sons, Andre McManus and his wife, Carla, of Marietta, GA, and Cedric McManus and his wife, Nichole, of Sparta, VA.; three brothers, Harry Coleman and his wife, Vivian, of Sparta, George Coleman and his wife, Lucille, of Dale City and Frank Coleman and his wife, Dorothy, of Sparta; three grandchildren, Antonia McManus and Winfrey McManus of Marietta, GA, and Savon Banks of Sparta; one brother-in-law, Vertis McManus of Benton Harbor, Michigan; five nieces, Sylvia Coleman-Martin, Renee Coleman, Valerie Coleman, Lealia Belinda Coleman and Alicia Coleman; seven nephews, Gregory Coleman, Anthony Coleman, Malcolm Coleman, Timothy Coleman, Derrick Coleman, Aaron Coleman and Wayne Samuels and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, May l, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. A Christian wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Sparta, VA 22552.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, May 2, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jared Beasley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
