Mary Elizabeth Golden, 91, of Port Royal, Virginia, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at her residence. Elizabeth was born July 9, 1920 to the late Albert W. Holmes and Mary E. Jackson Holmes.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Yvonne Harper (Bernard) and Jacquelyn G. Gaines (William); four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a devoted friend, Lizzie Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, January 6, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green and one hour before service on Saturday at the church. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 7, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3207 Quarter Hill Road, Supply, VA 22436. Rev. Irving Woolfolk, Jr. will be officiating and delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
