Marjorie Ann Brown, 84, of Gainesville, Virginia graduated from this life on August 29, 2017 at her home with her family at her side.

Marjorie Ann Watts Brown was born to the late George Halback and Marie Jones Watts on May 6, 1933. She attended the public schools in Washington, D.C. and was a graduate of Dunbar Senior High School. In fact, she and her youngest son, Eric, attended the 65th Class Reunion in November of 2016. One day while riding her bike at the early age of 13, she saw this skinny young boy running around the school track. She went home and told her mother that she had seen the man who she would spend the rest of her life with. Of course, her mother laughed. But on March 8, 1952 at 6:45 p.m., Marjorie and Floyd Bernard Brown, Jr. were united in Holy Matrimony by the late Bishop James P. Simms. As Marjorie and Floyd started their new lives, things began to change, she was not just wife but her husband is now in the military serving in the Air Force. Before she could get adjusted to that, their first-born child, Floyd III came along followed by the birth of Ezora Jeanette. Now she is a Wife and Mother, but wait there is more. While her husband was serving in the service, he received another call, the call to the ministry. In 1958, she and Minister Brown headed to a place called Centreville, Virginia to establish a church. Now that she is a Minister's Wife, she was able to join an organization called the, Holiness Minister's Wives & Widows Council of Washington, D.C. and the adjoining states. Mother Brown faithfully attended all the meetings and served on the Executive Board. In March 2016, she received her 60-year pin. The new church was dedicated in September 1961 and a few years later, their third child was born, Eric Karrington. As the mother of the church, she served in many roles, Sunday School Superintendent, former Choir Directress, and Adult Sunday School Teacher just to name a few. On Tuesday, August 29 at 4:15 p.m., the Lord decided that Mother Brown's work down here was done.

When she answered the final call, she was surrounded by the love of her husband, Bishop Brown, their three children, Floyd III, Ezora, Eric, her niece, Marie Murray and one of their "adopted" daugh - ters, Renee Young Blake. To remember the impact on one's life will be: her husband of 65 years, Bishop Floyd B. Brown, Jr., their children, Floyd III, Ezora, and Eric. Grandma's children, E. Karrington and Tyler (Elva Brown); Ashlei (Debra Brown); and Nevaeh, Elijah, and Sanyah (LaKeshia Richardson). Gee-Gee's great grand - children, Karrington, Reagan, Kaleb, and Zayne. One niece, Marie Murray; one nephew, Clarence Easton; one foster daughter, Cynthia Welch-Cress; five Godchildren, brother/sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Viewing and Memorial Service will be held from 4 PM to 9 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 6600 Old Centreville Road, Centreville, VA 20121.


Celebration of Life Services will be at 11 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Church with viewing from 9 AM to 11 AM.

Interment will be at 10 AM on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA. Everyone participating in the procession, please meet at The Church of the Blessed Trinity, 15011 Sacred Lane, Centreville, VA by 8:30 AM.
