Maria H. Minor, 71, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Mack and Jane Minor.

In her earlier years, Maria enjoyed listening to music, helping to take care of and raise her nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. They also thought the world of her. Years later she suffered a stroke which left her paralyzed on her right side; but, she didn't let her limited mobility stop her from living life and being the happy, smiling person we always knew and loved.

Maria was always thankful and grateful for any and everything that people did for her and you never heard her complain. She loved getting her hair and nails done. She always said "thank you" for whatever you did for her.

She often attended church with her sister and nephew, loved God and learning about the Bible. Maria had been a resident of Bowling Green Health Center for the past several years up until her death. There she was dearly loved by staff, nurses and residents. Whenever any of her family would visit, she always gave us a stuffed bear/animal or some little trinket or gift. It was her way of saying "thank you" for being here and all you have done for me. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and loved ones.

Survivors include her sister: Mary Ann Minor of Maryland, several nieces and nephews and a host of other close relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Edward Minor and her sister, Ellen Minor with whom she resided.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia and one hour before her Celebration of Life services begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the C. W. Edwards Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 13121 Woodford Road, Woodford, VA.
