On April 26,2021 as God was walking in His garden, he chose to stop beside our beloved Margie Ross Peatross and take her from our midst. He stopped and whispered, "I will carry you; just lay your head upon my breast, and I will give thee rest".

Margie was born May 21, 1942, in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Viola Ross Rousey and Floyd Roots. At a young age, Margie and her family moved to the Bowling Green area known as Edwardsville where they became well known and loved by all.

Marjorie received her formal education and graduated from Union High School in Caroline County. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ into her life and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Virginia where she became the chairman of the missionary, secretary of the senior usher board, member of the transportation ministry, the mass choir and a devoted Sunday school teacher to the youth. She loved her church but most of all, she loved the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her sisters, Nannie and Sadie, adopted son/nephew, Jelonny Ross and big sisters/cousins, Annie P. Myers and Carolyn Mobley.

Margie's passion for life was unsurpassed. She was a kind, caring, loving and generous person who was devoted to her family and her friends. She would often help people in and outside of the neighborhood by providing transportation to the store, school, doctors' appointments and provided a "Pay What You Can Daycare" for those whose situation was less fortunate than others. Margie would always say "you do not know what people are going through so just help them make it better if you can".

She enjoyed games, puzzle books, bubble witch, and she had a daily routine starting early in the morning with Let's Make a Deal , the Price is Right , and News at 12. These shows were followed by the Young and Restless, the Bold and Beautiful and late-night Wheel of Fortune . Of course, between these programs, she received and made phone calls because she loved to talk. Margie was loved by everyone, not only the family but people who met her throughout the years. She was the grandma, granny, big mama, NaNa, and Aunt Marge to the community.

Margie leaves to cherish her loving memory: her son, Randy Peatross (Robin), two daughters, Yvette Johnson (Kyle), and Faye Peatross; two sisters, Yvonne Moffett (Romie) and Selina Brown (Michael); two brothers, Robert Rousey and Floyd Roots (Jackie); six grandchildren, Kyle Johnson (Babette Cooper), Tiana Johnson, Mario Peatross (Latisha Goodall), Alasha Peatross, J'daia and Jalen Peatross; five great grandchildren, Taniyah, Zykihia, Te'jor, Aldreyah and Journie; two nephews, Frederick Moffett and Otis Childs; two nieces, Donna Moffett and Nicole Anderson; her soap opera buddies, Phyllis Washington, Mary Boone, and Antoinette (Toni) Ross; phone buddies Eloise Frye, Sue Waller, Suzie, Winnie, and lrving Woolfolk; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A walk through viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 127 South Main Street, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at ( The backyard of former home of Joe and Mary Adams), 16494 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427  with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in  Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Bowling Green, Virginia.

Due to COVID-19 a face covering or mask is required.
