On Monday, May 28, 2018, God , Our Father, in his wisdom, closed the eyes of our beloved Margaret Marie Stevens; surrounded by her loving family, at her Ruther Glen residence. Although our hearts are saddened and heavy, we concur that God only picks the best.

Margaret was born on March 12, 1945 to the late Reed and Annie Turner Wright in Caroline County, Virginia. She was one of seven children born to this union. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two sisters, Geraldine Wright-Lewis and Ruby Lee Chew; one niece, Sandra Wright-Jackson; and a devoted and loving aunt, Louise Boone Wright.

Margaret received her education in the Caroline County Public Schools. She was employed by Old Dominion Windows in Hanover, Virginia from which she retired in 2007.

She received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Chilesburg, Virginia. She later moved her membership to Second Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hanover, Virginia under the leadership of Reverend Marvin fields, whom she considered her friend, in addition to her pastor. She attended service regularly until her health began to fail.

On January 14, 2006, Margaret was united in holy matrimony to Bobby Steven, Sr.. Together, from day one , they were avid, passionate, and devoted Washington Redskin fans and they cherished the time they spent together, traveling with family and friends, until her passing.

Margaret loved her family and was always concerned about their well being; being a "mother" to everyone. She took pride in hosting holiday events and ensuring that everyone enjoyed themselves. She was very active, always on the go and very present in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved beautifying her yard with flowers, cooking delicious meals and decorating her home.

Margaret leaves to cherish  her fond memories; a  loving devoted husband and caregiver , Bobby Stevens, Sr.; two devoted daughters  and caregivers, Grenda and Cheryl Parker both of Ashland, Virginia; two stepsons, Bobby Stevens, Jr. (Michelle) and Jason Stevens both of Richmond, Virginia; four grandchildren whom  affectionally called her  NU NU , Nekia Parker, Akeena Parker, ( caregiver ),  Jahwan Baylor and Keyarnia Toliver; five great grandchildrem, Taylor,Reagan, King, Messiah and Saint;  two step-grandchildren, Rashoid and Rajahnique Stevens; three  loving sisters, Bertha Wright of Woodford, Virginia, Frances Wright of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Delores Brown (Melvin) of Richmond, Virginia; one devoted and loving brother, Reed Wright, Jr. (Jeanne) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Jato Stevens-Wallace of Washington, D.C. and Doris Thomas (James) of Ruther Glen, Virginia; two brothers-in-law, Irvin Stevens, Jr. (Gloria) of Ruther Glen, Virginia and Jimmy Stevens (Jessie) of Washington, D.C.; two godsons, Bryant and Stacey Walker;  special cousins, Elizabeth Dyson and Corean Wright-Wilson; long time friends, Alice Smith, Joyce Hopkins, Stacey Ross, Pearl Thomas, Timothy Toliver, Jackie Holman, Brenda Smithers, McArthur and Betty Morris and Geraldine Baylor; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Second Mount Zion Baptist Church, 31220 Old Dawn Road Hanover, Virginia 23069 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Marvin Fields will deliver the eulogy.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
