Magdalene Foxx Anderson was born in Caroline County, Virginia on July 21,1941, to the late Richard and Mary Lizzie Foxx. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Andrew F. Anderson, Sr. on August 31, 1957. Magdalene was a loving, devoted and dedicated wife. This union was blessed with five children: Ernestine, Andrew, Jr., James, Karl and Marvin Anderson.
Magdalene received her education at Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia. She had a great passion for her work with the Caroline County public schools. She served for thirty-five years as a bus driver. Additionally, she worked as an Avon Representative for 32 years. In her leisure time Magdalene enjoyed outdoor activities, especially gardening and had a love for traveling.
At an early age, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and became a member of Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a long-time member of the senior choir and a dedicated Deaconess.
Magdalene was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Lizzie Foxx; husband, husband, Andrew F. Anderson, Sr. and two brothers, Richard and Junious Foxx.
She is survived by her five dedicated children, Ernestine, Andrew Jr. James (Laverne), Karl, and Marvin Anderson, all of Ruther Glen, Virginia, five devoted sisters, Goldie Jones (Alfred), of Triangle, Virginia; Lottie Foxx, Mary Derricotte and Ruth Parker all of Ruther Glen, Virginia and Florence Hughey (David) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, one brother, Harold Foxx of Richmond, Virginia, six loving grandchildren, Jemiah Jeter, Corey Anderson, Sade Tompkins (Davontay) and Sharde'ja Anderson all of Ruther Glen, Virginia, De'ja Dandridge (Marcus) of Winchester, Virginia and Brandon Deyo of Bowling Green, Virginia, thirteen cherished great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Oxford Mt Zion Baptist Church, 25214 Zion Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
