Madeline Sims Jones, 81, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at her residence in Ruther Glen, Virginia, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Caroline County, Virginia on November 13, 1931, to the late Alice Sims.
Madeline is survived by three devoted daughters, Vanessa Whiting, Debra Jones and Pamela Wright; four sons, Otis, Jr., Michael, Jeffrey and Jerrold Jones; six grandchildren, Shemia Anderson (David), Shemica Valencia (Julian), Darius Jones, Deron Taylor, Shiaira Jones and Chardona Wright; five great grandchildren, Sonyia Jones, Kennedy Jones, McKenzia Anderson, Kamari Taylor and Kamiah Taylor; two sisters, Christine Jones and Alberta Light; one devoted brother, William Taylor; one son-in-law, Raymond Wright and one daughter-in-law, Diane Jones; six, sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, two devoted, Mae Boggs and Jannie Jones and a special family friend, Vernice McMillan, other relatives and friends. Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Jones, Sr. and one son, Phillip Jones.
A celebration of life service will be held at ll a.m. Thursday, August 8, at Jericho Baptist Church, 8435 Jericho Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546 with the Rev. Eddie A. Nelson delivering the eulogy.
Interment will follow at First Mount Zion Baptist Church cemetery, 17065 Seal Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
