Louise Lona Byrd, 92, of Lanham, MD. (formerly of Caroline County), went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Heritage Harbour Health and Rehab Center in Annapolis, MD.

Louise was known to most by "Sis", she was the fourth child and the first daughter, born February 24, 1920, in the Bagby community of Caroline County, Virginia, to Matthew and Maude Lee.

She is survived by six children, Juanita June Knight of Dalhgren, Virginia, Clifton Hermon (Geneva) of King and Queen,Virginia, Robert Ashton (Amy) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Donald Erwin of Cheverly, Maryland, Marjorie Irene Williams (Kenneth) of Alexandria, Virginia and Karla Denise Neal (Dwight) of Bowie, Maryland; seventeen grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, fifteen great great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law Lola Lee of Quantico,Virginia, Adell Alsop and Cora Byrd both of King and Queen, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday, February 23, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427, and one hour before the service at the church on Sunday.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 7820 Newtown Road, Newtown, Virginia 23126. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
